Support Services

The EOP Office, an academic and personal counseling support service, works in conjunction with the other college offices to offer a variety of services designated to help with student matriculation.

Services include:

Financial Aid

The Financial Aid Office will prepare a financial aid package, which includes grant funding and additional aid (loans, scholarships, etc.) to pay for tuition, fees, room and board.

The financial aid package does not include money for personal expenses (i.e. transportation to and from the college, clothing, etc.) These items, along with payment for books and supplies, which exceeds the amount allotted in the package, will be the responsibility of the student. Students needing assistance in these areas are to discuss the possibility of applying for additional aid with a financial aid representative.

Progress Reports

Academic progress reports are sent to each student's instructor at the end of the first five weeks in the semester, and are returned to the office approximately mid-point of the semester. These reports indicate student academic status, attendance, and need for tutorial assistance. A conference is scheduled with each student to review reports and instructor comments. These forms will be filed in the student's EOP academic folders.

Academic Counseling

Schedules are developed to enhance the potential for academic success and to facilitate the adjustment to college studies. An academic file is kept for each student in order to monitor the student's progress in meeting graduation requirements.

In subsequent semesters, the student is to plan his/her own schedule in consultation with his/her academic advisor and the EOP counselor. It is essential that students report all curriculum schedule, or course changes to their EOP counselor immediately.

Minimum Course Load for EOP Students
Full-time students carry a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester. If an EOP student falls below the 12 credit hours they may jeopardize:

  1. Their matriculated status.
  2. Their overall financial aid.
  3. Their EOP funding.
  4. Their eligibility to reside on campus in the residence hall.

EOP recommends that students take 15 credit hours per semester.
