Computer Information Systems

Overview

SUNY Cobleskill’s Computer Information Systems program is designed to prepare successful graduates for entry level positions as computer, network, and programming support specialists. The College offers four advisement tracks to tailor student interests to their career goals: Web Development, End User Support, Network Support, and Programming.

Graduates of SUNY Cobleskill’s Computer Information Systems program find employment as help desk technicians, software support specialists, Web site support technicians, and network support assistants. Students are also encouraged to continue their studies to better prepare them for the challenges in an ever-changing field.

Advisement Tracks

All students take foundation courses in information systems and liberal arts, but choosing an advisement track allows you to focus your studies to align with career goals to get the most out of your two-year degree. Each track also allows for elective choices in case you want to supplement from a different concentration. Sample courses for each track:
